Om Mani Padme Hum is in the center of the mandala. The mantra and the elements surrounding the center of the mandala represent the movements of the planets and the whole cosmos around Mount Meru, the holy mountain considered the center of the axis of both physical and spiritual universe.
“Om, Ma, Ni, Pad, Me, Hum” is a 6 jewel syllable invocation (mantra) of Avalokiteshwor one who is invoked as savior and protector from danger. One who recites this mantra will be saved from all dangers and will be protected. The mantra “Om Mane Padme Hum” is easy to say yet quiet powerful, because it contains the essence of the entire teaching.
Mandala is a circle which is a device for the Tantric meditation. It is a visual aid for concentration and introversive meditation leading to the attainment of insights and to activation of forces culminating in Siddhi supernatural forces. The Mandala is the graphic representation of this process.
