Description
This is a hand painted thangka of Om Mane Padme Hum Mantra Mandala with Astha mangal. This mandala is painted on handmade cotton canvas, Painted in a traditional Tibetan thangka color scheme by the local artist.
The symbol OM is at the center of the thanka which is surrounded by eight auspicious signs/symbols called astamangal.
The symbols are yidam and teaching tools. Not only do these attributes (or energetic signatures) point to qualities of enlightened mindstream, but they are the investiture that ornaments these enlightened “qualities”.

1. Endless knot
2. Lotus flower
3. Dhvaja (Victory Banner)
4. Dharmachakra (fly-whisk in Nepali Buddhism)
5. Bumpa (Vase)
6. Golden Fish
7. Parasol
8. Conch
In Buddhism, these eight symbols of good fortune represent the offerings made by the gods to Shakyamuni Buddha immediately after he gained enlightenment.

The thangka is beautiful, the colours are a bit different in reality as the picture was taken with flash. However, the parcel was only sent off after 10+ days after purchase and I had to contact multiple times for updates, so the wait was longer than stated. Contact with the shop owner is alright, she doesn't always reply though. As this is a more expensive thangka I would have expected a bit better service on the shipping and contact. But the product itself is pretty.
